The scholarship covers two weeks of language course (\u20ac510). Flights, accommodation, food, and registration fees are the student's responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-accent-3-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-d283a9e7c6e389ce777ebe694318e020\" id=\"h-como-solicitar-a-bolsa\">How to apply for the scholarship<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>In my case, the first contact was made between the two partner schools. Once the scholarship was confirmed, I paid the registration fee on Fundaci\u00f3n Lengua\u2019s website to reserve my spot. <em>Fundaci\u00f3n Lengua\u2019s website<\/em> para reservar minha vaga.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A solicita\u00e7\u00e3o tamb\u00e9m pode ser feita diretamente na p\u00e1gina de inscri\u00e7\u00e3o do <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fundacionlengua.com\/es\/soy-alumno-espanol-quiero-solicitar-beca\/art\/23019\/?utm_source=Partiu%20Intercambio&amp;utm_medium=post&amp;utm_campaign=becas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">site da <em>Fundaci\u00f3n Lengua\u2019s website<\/em><\/a> by writing a short text explaining why you deserve the two-week course.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">On the same page, you can simulate or select additional services like airport transfer, travel insurance, and accommodation\u2014or just book the course and organize everything else yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-accent-3-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-e6593d1d4d2d2370f64eb41b8414d85c\" id=\"h-acomodacao\">Accommodation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A Fundaci\u00f3n Lengua oferece v\u00e1rias op\u00e7\u00f5es de acomoda\u00e7\u00f5es: casa de fam\u00edlia, apartamento, hotel e resid\u00eancia universit\u00e1ria. Os pre\u00e7os variam de 440 a 780 euros (2 semanas).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I chose the university residence (\u20ac490) for three reasons:\n\n1. Financial feasibility\n\n2. To meet new people\n\n3. Not having to worry about food or cleaning (breakfast, lunch, and dinner were included)&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <em>resi<\/em> (as they call it there) hosts around 60 Spanish students and usually a few international exchange students. There\u2019s a shared space with a dining hall, game room, TV lounge, library, and living area. It also has a gym, terrace, laundry room, and of course, bedrooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-accent-3-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-3d0a56468ab618995236a3e9cd01e1e8\" id=\"h-qual-e-a-melhor-opcao-de-acomodacao\">What\u2019s the best accommodation option?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The best choice depends on your profile and priorities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Personally, I believe the best way to learn a language and overcome the fear of speaking (which is very common during exchanges) is by speaking. In that sense, the best options are host families or university residences, where there\u2019s direct contact with locals. It\u2019s not only great for practice, but also a full immersion into the daily life and local culture.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regardless of the choice, all options are located in the city center, allowing you to walk everywhere.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-accent-3-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-a1f88a294e7830e5d0a6533f451e5302\" id=\"h-sobre-o-curso\">About the course<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>On the first day of class, there\u2019s a placement test and a city tour\u2014which will instantly make your eyes sparkle because Valladolid is just so beautiful!\n\nBesides the 4-hour daily classes, the school offers many afternoon programs (most are<em> free<\/em>) and two guided trips: one to <a href=\"https:\/\/seguetodavidareto.com\/en\/salamanca-espanha-lugares-para-conhecer-em-um-dia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Salamanca<\/a> e outra para <a href=\"https:\/\/seguetodavidareto.com\/en\/bate-volta-madrid-pedraza-segovia\/\">Seg\u00f3via<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/seguetodavidareto.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/intercambio-de-espanhol-valladolid--1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-30\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Church  Santa Mar\u00eda La Antigua <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Who were the students?\nMost students were Brazilian, but there was also an American, a Turkish girl, an Italian, and a Thai student.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-regular-font-size\">Was the course worth it?\nAbsolutely! I\u2019d say I got 100% out of the experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I joined every activity and trip the school offered, talked non-stop, studied hard, and made lots of friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When I returned, I took a new placement test and jumped an entire level (equivalent to a full semester). Mission accomplished!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What really helped\u2014and here\u2019s a tip\u2014was being in constant contact with people at the residence and just speaking, speaking, speaking without fear of making mistakes. Despite the cost, I chose to go with the school and it was incredible in every way.
